‘To my dying day, I will stand by every word of my testimony,’ Amber Heard said in her Today’s interview with Savannah Guthrie

Shortly after Amber Heard’s explosive interview on Today’s show with host Savannah Guthrie after Heard broke silence on her “unfair” defamation trial against Johnny Depp, Megyn Kelly, journalist, and political commentator, reacted to Heard’s interview on her show The Megyn Kelly Show. Kelly was joined by Emily Jashinsky of The Federalist and Eliana Johnson of the Free Beacon to discuss Heard’s latest comments, her credibility, and more after a 7-person jury favored Depp in the court war that rocked the nation.

The journalist and political commentator began her segment on The Megyn Kelly Show by slamming Heard’s claims she didn’t “care what anybody thinks” of her. “She clearly does,” Kelly suggested. “She’s only saying she doesn’t care because she just lost.” The political commentator then mocked Heard for claiming that social media was “unfair” to her during the trial. While interviewing with Guthrie, Heard said, “Even if you think that I’m lying, you still couldn’t look me in the eye and tell me that you think on social media there’s been a fair representation. You cannot tell me that you think that this has been fair.” However, Kelly was not so convinced by this and commented, “[Heard] was unbelievable, and social media turned against her,” Kelly said, or “social media turned against her, and then the jurors found her unbelievable.” “She thinks it’s the latter, I think it’s the former,” Kelly continued.

Kelly then further went on to bring up Heard’s comment about not blaming the jury because she understood that Depp is a “beloved character and a fantastic actor.” Heard claimed that the jurors came to their conclusion after listening to testimonies from Depp’s “paid employees”. However, according to Kelly, Heard’s team presented a bad case. “What she is basically saying is the other lawyers did a better job than my lawyers and Johnny did a better job than I did and that’s it was unfair, this verdict against me,” Kelly commented. “Your lawyer had the chance to point all of this out on cross-examination and [they] did, and you Amber Heard pointed it out when you were on the witness stand as well. The jury heard all of your defenses, all of your attempts to poke holes in the credibility of these people, and they rejected them”, Kelly said.

Kelly slammed Heard’s perception of the jury as a “helpless group” and said, “That doesn’t make the jury this helpless group of vulnerable people who would just be swayed by the randos and the paid employees. They factored all of that in, and they still did not believe you, like that’s how bad your case was.”

Kelly’s comments on Heard’s Today interview gained traction online. Fans once again sounded off with Heard’s statements.

One user wrote, “People keep forgetting that it was AMBER’S TEAM that introduced the social media evidence! Like wtf, now they want to cry wolf? You can’t have it both ways”.

Nobody said her acting was good on the stand 😂 She is both a terrible actress in movies and in trials.

During her bombshell interview, Heard stood by her emotional testimony and accused Depp of lying on the witness stand about being abusive. “To my dying day, I will stand by every word of my testimony,” Heard firmly stated.

Heard has been ordered to pay Depp $10.35 million after the jury determined she defamed him in a 2018 Washington Post op-ed piece following a 6-week trial. As for Heard, she was awarded $2 million in compensatory damages from her countersuit.
