Netflix gives audiences a new look at Red and Kitty’s return in That ’90s Show. That ’90s Show is a follow-up of the ever-popular That ‘70s Show that ran from 1998 to 2006. While its predecessor focused on Eric Forman (played by Topher Grace) and his friends, this time around, audiences will watch Eric and Donna’s daughter, Leia Forman, as she takes a trip to her grandparent’s house for the summer. That ’90s Show will follow a new generation of teenagers taking over Kitty and Red’s basement as Leia makes some new friends.
Since being confirmed in October last year, That ’90s Show has been fairly fast-paced with revealing new details about the production. Lately, there have been several conversations about whether the original cast is to appear in That ’90s Show. Recently it was confirmed by Netflix that the entire That ’70s Show gang are to guest star, with the exclusion of Danny Masterson (Hyde) due to several sexual assault allegations. While Kitty and Red (Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith) were always set to return, bringing back most of the original cast is sure to make the series more enticing to old fans.
Most recently, Netflix gave fans their newest look at That ’90s Show. The image sees Kitty and Red in their familiar That ’70s Show kitchen, although there have been some 90s-themed upgrades. Regardless of the spruced-up wallpaper and kitchen décor, it’s still sure to have fans of the original series feeling nostalgic. Check out the image below:
In this new series, Eric and Donna’s Daughter is played by Callie Haverda, with several other new faces being added to the town. Leia’s cast of friends is made up of Ashley Aufderheide (It) as Gwen, Sam Morelos as Nikki, Maxwell Acee Donovan (Gabby Duran & The Unsittables) as Nate, Reyn Doi as Ozzie, and Sam Mace Coronel (Colin in Black & White) as Jay. While the new show focuses on a lot of new characters in a new era, Jo Rupp tells fans That ’90s Show is “the same but different.”
That ’90s Show appears to be trying to follow the same tone of the original series, with the inclusion of so many original cast members and such a similar look. Some other That ’90s Show behind-the-scenes images support this, showing off an almost identical That ’70s Show basement. Netflix may not reveal the updated looks for Eric and his friends until the series is released. However, showing the return of Red and Kitty is a great way to get fans excited for the series, especially since Rupp and Smith are said to have recurring roles in That ’90s Show. A release date for the series has yet to be set, but the streamer will no doubt release more images and trailers for the sequel show in the near future.
