Edward Clayton Taylor, a 57-year-old man recently exonerated after spending 33 years in prison on a wrongful conviction of raping a 4-year-old girl is back behind bars for attempted murder.

Authorities say Taylor shot a man following a dispute last week, just a month after being sprang from prison. Taylor’s mother didn’t seem surprised but no less devastated by the arrest.

“Oh my God. I am so numb, I am just numb,” she told the Florida Times Union. “I don’t know what to say. I fought so long to get him home, something he did not do and he came out and spent this time with obviously the wrong people.”

The incident was reportedly caught on camera and police found bullet holes in his car when police attempted to question him about the incident.

According to the video, the man believed to be Taylor was seen walking up to an individual and shooting him in the chest before other drew their weapons and fired back in retaliation. The bullet holes in Taylor’s car are said to be consistent with what took place on the video.

Taylor is being held in Duval County jail on $1.1 million bond and has a court date of July 18.
