The ongoing trial involving Johnny Depp and Amber Heard has many fans criticizing Disney and Warner Bros. for the roles Depp has lost in recent years. According to Depp, allegedly false allegations made by Heard had cost him his roles as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean 6 and Gellert Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore. Depp’s agent also testified that Depp would have been paid over $22 million for Pirates 6 before the sequel was dropped after Heard wrote an op-ed for The Washington Post describing herself as a survivor of domestic abuse.

Audio recordings, witness testimony, and other evidence presented in the trial have seemingly gotten the majority of the public on Depp’s side. On social media, many Depp fans have been lambasting Disney and Warner Bros. for cutting ties with the actor over unproven allegations. At the same time, the hashtag #ThankYouDior has been consistently trending. That’s because, throughout it all, Dior has maintained its relationship with Depp which includes prominently featuring the actor in promotional materials for his own special fragrance, Sauvage.

“Itโ€™s sad when you have to start boycotting things you love because people wanna judge before they get the facts. At least I can forever be grateful for Dior,” says one fan using the hashtag.

“I sent an email to Dior today to thank them for standing by Johnny Depp. I have always stood by him and boycott Harry Potter, DC, Warner Brothers & Disney,” another tweet reads.

“Went shopping today I saw this Johnny Depp isn’t canceled #ThankYouDior for standing by him,” writes another fan, posting an image of a Dior display featuring Depp. “I hope he is having a good weekend this man is incredible and still standing strong with everything he has been through, still going through.”
