A fresh theory has been put forth regarding the real identity of the Polish woman who claims to be missing British girl Madeleine McCann. Julia Wandelt —also known as Julia Wendell and Julia Faustyna—claims to be Madeleine, who disappeared from a Portugal apartment bedroom in 2007 when she was three years old. Wandalt, 21, made these claims on social media and revealed details about the painful childhood she had after getting kidnapped. However, many people online have harshly criticized Wandelt, claiming that she doesn’t resemble Madeleine and that the whole thing is an attention seeking stunt.

People online have found no similarities between the pictures of the two, but rather found Wandelt looking like another missing Swiss girl. Some web sleuths believe Wandelt may actually be Livia Schepp from Switzerland, who went missing in 2011. Schepp and Wandalt’s side-by-side images have recently gone viral online, with many commenting that the two appear to be “twins.”

Julia Wandelt or Livia Schepp?

“That definitely looks more like her than Maddie!” one person wrote on social media as reported by news.com.au. “This gives me chills. I wonder if it is her?” Another wrote, They literally look like twins, omg.” A third wrote, “Really spot on. This one deserves a DNA test.”

Alessia and Livia Schepp disappeared in 2011

In 2011, Alessia and Livia Schepp, twins who were six years old at the time, were taken by their father from their home in western Switzerland. Matthias Schepp, who was 43 at the time, had promised to return his children to their mother’s home a few days later or to drive them straight to school the following morning, but he never followed through.

Schepp and the daughters’ mother, Irina Lucidi, had just split up at the time, and the former was reportedly not coping well because of it. Shortly after, Schepp killed himself by jumping in front of a train and his body was found in southern Italy. There were no sign of the girls. At the time, it was said that Schepp had supposedly sent a letter to his wife the day before he killed himself, confessing to having murdered his kids. However, no bodies have ever been found of the two girls.
