Miami prosecutors released elevator surveillance footage that shows a former OnlyFans star beating her boyfriend just months before he was fatally stabbed.
Courtney Clenney of nominal OnlyFans fame will be extradited to Florida from Hawaii after being arrested on second-degree murder charges. Miami-Dade County State Attorney Kathie Fernandez-Rundle asserted that Clenney stabbed her boyfriend at close-range. According to reports, the couple’s frequent fighting led managers and other tenants to consider pursuing eviction before the murder.
Fernandez-Rundle demonstrated Clenney’s capacity for violence with video from an elevator scuffle where she is seen repeatedly beating on Christian Obumseli. “It certainly appears that the defendant was aggressively attacking Christian,” Fernandez-Rundle said.
After news broke regarding Clenney’s arrest, her legal team issued a statement criticizing the arrest. “We are completely shocked at Courtney’s arrest based upon the clear evidence of self-defense in this matter,” Clenney’s attorney Frank Prieto said Thursday. “Obumseli attacked her and choked her that evening; Courtney had no choice but to meet force with force.”
Obumseli’s family noted, however, “We always believed that with a thorough and fair investigation that this day would come into reality, […] This is such a relief for the family. But it gives restored hope that even though delayed, justice will still come.”
